           ABOUT BRAVEHEARTS

In 1999, the lives of three women were changed forever. Karen Haag, Joyce Chulock, and Lori Walsh were all diagnosed with breast cancer

They met at a local support group, and, although they came from different walks of life, became fast friends. It was this friendship that eventually led to Camp Bravehearts.

All three women knew they were getting the medical care they required, but felt there was a need in the area for a place for a woman to go for emotional and spiritual support. And so, in 2000, Camp Bravehearts was formed.

Camp Bravehearts is a non-profit organization that offers women dealing with cancer a variety of weekend retreats each focused on a different theme. Whether it’s rafting down a river, or relaxing on a beach, one concept remains the same. Camp Bravehearts is an experience of learning, healing, and sharing.
