Thank you to Penny Weiner, Bravehearts Staff Member and the Staff, Administration, and Students of 811X School-Career and Living Skills in Bronx, NY for the continuing support with their Annual Pink Day. To date they have raised $6643 for Camp Bravehearts.
Thank you to everyone that came out to Tripps Park in Scranton to support Bats Battling Cancer, in memory of Bonnie Galea, a Bravehearts camper. This is the second annual softball tournament, created by Monica Burda, to honor her Aunt Bonnie. We would like to also thank the Burda, Comonie, and Galea families and their friends for all they did to make this tournament a huge success.

Dear Golfers, Diners and Supporters,
A quick update and heart-felt THANK YOU for making our 8th Annual Golf Tournament a tremendous success! Due to your support and generosity, we were able to raise over $19,000 for Camp Bravehearts. As you know, we are a small, grass-roots charity that has no paid staff and no giant administrative overhead—this means that 100% of the money raised at the tournament goes to helping women (and their families) dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
Maybe these comments from camper evaluations best convey what Bravehearts means to our sisterhood:
“Learned new meaning of the word Bravehearts. It’s a place to come to practice “being” brave, With the help of a huge group of encouragers.”
“Pure gratitude for giving me this opportunity, I have no words to express how utterly phenomenal and awesome this experience has been.”
“Camp is always a source of strength, love, understanding and fun!”
The success of the golf tournament will help us continue to provide incredible retreats to cancer survivors who truly need the break, for a fraction of the actual cost. While our weekend retreats cost Bravehearts over $600 per person, we ask campers for a small donation of $100 / $150 to offset our costs—and we offer full scholarships to anyone who requires one.
The Bravehearts Golf Committee and Volunteer Management Team could not be more grateful to have the opportunity to serve this special population and do this important work. Without you, none of it would be possible.
